Try on Google Cloud Print

The Google Cloud Print app was on the Play Store on June 12. Never heard about the Google Cloud Print before. Wait...
Chrome Setting
I've seen this but never try it. It's in the Chrome setting. I just don't realize it's there. So, what kinds of printer does it support? Not only the new printers having cloud print functions, but also the old classic desktop printers, like  the one I have, Canon PIXMA MP150. I'm sure you can't get one now. Haha! I bought it in 2010.

The difference between a cloud printer and classic printer is you have to keep the computer which is connected with the classic printer on so that the print service can fetch the print jobs from Google Cloud Print.

With Google Cloud Print installed on your mobile or tablets, you can print documents/e-mails/web pages on them directly. Just like Air Print on iPhones/iPads/iPods. However, I think the Google Cloud Print brings more functions and flexabilities to end users and developers.

  1. Not limited to the home wi-fi.
  2. Not limited to printers having cloud print function.

So. let's start setting up the printers on desktop.
  1. Go to the Chrome setting and sign in to Google Cloud Print.
  2. Add printer(s) and the printers connected to your desktop is automatically added to the Google Cloud Print.

  3. Click "Manage your printers" and you'll see your printers. You can share the added printers to other google accounts. That means anyone. Just like managing Google Docs.

The printer is ready now and now go to the mobile side.
  1. Install the Google Cloud Print app from the Play Store.

  2. Let's try to print web content. Open the Chrome and go to any website. Call the menu and press "Share..." Choose "Cloud Print".

  3. Choose the printer previously added to the Google Cloud Print. Input the printing parameters and press the send button on the top.

  4. Here comes the result. The color and layout is different from what I see from the mobile. Seems some background images are not embedded.

  5. Finally, I can see the print job on Google Cloud Print. I can keep track of all print jobs, but I can't open the document printed

Welcome to My Blog

Suddenly come up with an idea to have my blog to share, to ask and to make some notes about technical problems/experience.
